Stocking Stuffer Friendly Finds
As we head towards Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and other end of the year holidays, we wanted to provide some friendly finds we thought could be useful. Whether you’re looking for a stocking stuffer, a little something to give a loved one on one of the eight days of Hanukkah or a small, albeit practical, gift to give a friend, this list might provide you with a little inspiration.
None of these friendly finds are big gifts. They are small, but eco-friendly, gifts practical for kids and adults alike.Â

Naturally-Sourced, Organic Toothpaste
First on our list is this naturally-sourced, organic toothpaste from Doctor Plotka’s Mouthwatchers. What’s great about this toothpaste is it’s fluoride-free, vegan, non-GMO and paraben free. It is perfect for those with sensitive teeth and gums, but who also want help with stain removal. It doesn’t contain the sugars, preservatives or artificial dyes found in other toothpaste products. Plus, the organic mint flavor gives your mouth a nice freshness after brushing. In addition, the tube the toothpaste comes in is fully recyclable and made with 44% post-consumer recycled materials. I’ve tried this one myself and have continued to use it since.
Biodegradable, Compostable Toothbrush
Since we suggested toothpaste, we would be remiss to not give you a friendly finds suggestion for a toothbrush, as well. This particular toothbrush (or pack of toothbrushes) from Isshah is made with the environment in mind. The handle is made from all natural bamboo, while the soft charcoal bristles are BPA-free. The entire product is plastic-free, vegan and cruelty-free. Even the packaging it comes in is 100% recycled and biodegradable.
Stainless Steel Back Scratcher
You know the saying, I’ll scratch your back if you’ll scratch mine. Well, this particular friendly find can help with that. This is a stainless steel, telescoping back scratcher. It’s small, but mighty. The handle extends out in four sections, so even if you want to scratch your own back, you can do so. The hand grip is made from a durable rubber material. It’s a small, but creative gift even suitable for White Elephant gift exchange.
Natural Facial Sponges
Next on our list of friendly finds for stocking stuffers are these natural facial sponges from myHomeBody. What I like about these particular sponges is they are vegan, all-natural and suitable for any skin type. Each sponge is made from biodegradable, compostable plant-based materials. In addition, you can choose from a variety of sponges, depending on your personal needs: aloe vera, activated charcoal, turmeric and lavender. My personal favorite is the sage green/graphite gray color combo.
Funny, Handmade Bar Soaps
If you’ve got a funny side to you, and I hope you do, these handmade, essential oil bar soaps might be the perfect stocking stuffer or White Elephant gift. With this gift, you get a set of two bar soaps made with a base of coconut oil, olive oil and tallow. The white soap has poppyseeds, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils and says “FACE” on the front. The black soap has activated charcoal powder with tea tree and peppermint essential oils and says “BUTT” on the front. This makes it simple, as there’s no confusing which soap to use where. As an eco-friendly bonus, the soaps come in a natural, muslin bag.
Bamboo Shampoo and Soap holders
Know someone who likes to use shampoo bars or bar soaps? If so, these bamboo shampoo and soap holders could make a great stocking stuffer or small gift. What’s nice about these holders is they’re not only stylish and practical, but they can help reduce plastic-waste. Each bamboo bar holder is biodegradable, ethically-sourced, vegan, cruelty-free, plastic-free and sustainable. They can also be stacked one upon the other, so you can have multiple holders taking up minimal space.
All Natural Beeswax Chapstick
This all-natural chapstick is the bee’s knees…okay, okay…no more puns. But seriously, this Kobee’s chapstick, aka lip balm, is handmade from all-natural ingredients. It contains no parabens, no phthalates, no petrolatum and no alcohols. It comes in compostable packaging and is cruelty-free. The company’s goal is not to have a minimal impact on the environment, but to leave no trace. It’s a small business with eco-friendly goals.
organic, wool dryer balls
Tired of using disposable dryer sheets? Do you want a more eco-friendly way to reduce wrinkles and soften your clothes in the dryer? Well, these organic wool dryer balls from RAYTRADE may be exactly what you need. These dryer balls are made from premium New Zealand natural wool. They are chemical-free, with no fillers or synthetics. Per the company, they are reusable for over 1000 loads. Use of these dryer balls helps reduce drying time, energy usage, static electricity and wrinkles. The dryer balls also help remove lint and pet hair from clothes.Â
Rechargeable Electric Candle Lighter
This one is a cute idea and quite practical, too. This rechargeable electric candle lighter might be a great gift for someone who likes to go camping, for those who love candles or just to have around the house in case of an emergency. What’s nice about this lighter is there’s no oil, so no flame, no smoke and no offensive odor. It’s also windproof, so would work well even outdoors. You can recharge it using your computer, a car charger, a power strip or plug it directly into the wall. As the battery is energy conservative and environmentally-friendly, it doesn’t take much to fully charge it and one charge can last up to 400 uses.
Consider the Impact of Your purchases Before Making them
While each of the friendly finds we covered in this article are practical and eco-friendly in nature, we recommend you consider the impact of your holiday purchases before making them. Do you really need to buy something or can you make or repurpose a gift you already have? If you do need to make purchases, whether for a stocking stuffer or other gift, consider a few ways to green your holiday shopping experience. You, and the environment, will be glad you did.
Happy holidays!
