The Super Bloom of California

A super bloom is a rare desert botanical phenomenon in which a high proportion of wildflowers whose seeds have lain dormant in desert soil germinate and blossom at roughly the same time.

This was taken during the California super bloom of 2019, and photographer Ryan Resatka promises: “No flowers were harmed in the making of this photo, the person is standing in an open path and I’m on the edge of a bend from another.”
