Marbled Orb-weaver

As we continue into the fall, the Marbled Orb-weaver (Araneus marmoreus) is the perfect example of nature’s autumnal color palette. This species of spider is sometimes called the pumpkin spider and for good reason.

This plump arachnid is found throughout all of Canada to Alaska, the northern Rockies, from North Dakota to Texas, and then east to the Atlantic, as well as in Europe.
