Caterpillar green wings

Saddleback Caterpillar | Green Wings Award

Nature can get quite creative at times. I mean, take a look at this Saddleback Caterpillar resting on a fence post. It looks like it’s wearing a colorful, little saddle on it’s back or, at the very least, wearing a sweater knit by grandma. It’s definitely an eye catcher. I wouldn’t recommend picking it up though. This insect is meant to be admired from a distance as it apparently can cause quite a stinging sensation to those who dare to move it from its intended path.

So, before you head out sweet caterpillar, we wanted to award you with our Green Wings Award. Safe travels!

I’ve never seen a caterpillar like that one.
